Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC)
The ‘Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya’ (UPC) is a public institution dedicated to higher education and research that specialises in the fields of architecture, science and engineering. It is organized in 41 Departments and 4 research institutes (Energy Technology, Industrial and Control Engineering, Robotics and Industrial Informatics, Textile research). It has over 30.000 students and 2700 academic staff.
The main task to be done at UPC within the project is the study by simulation at atomic level of the properties of self interstitial atoms in Fe. The group of Prof. Anna Serra at UPC has already been working in the study of defects created by irradiation in iron and copper and has published over 30 related papers in international journals. The group has already established collaborations with other partners of the present project since it participated in the previous PERFECT.
