Serco Technical and Assurance Services (formerly Serco Assurance) is a division of Serco Limited, which in turn is a subsidiary of Serco Group plc. Serco Group plc employs more than 40,000 staff worldwide. A large part of TAS was originally part of UKAEA and then AEA Technology plc, and it has over 40 years’ experience in the nuclear industry, both in the UK and overseas, as a leading supplier of independent safety, risk management and engineering services. TAS employs over 700 staff, the majority of whom are scientists and engineers educated to first degree level (and above).
TAS provides support to nuclear plant operators in improving plant performance and extending plant lifetime. The company offers a breadth of experience, expertise and innovation in nuclear safety consultancy, structural integrity assessment and inspection validation of LWR and gas-cooled reactor systems. As a lead supplier of RTD services and a long-term contributor to European collaborative programmes in nuclear plant lifetime management under FP4, FP5 and FP6, TAS is well qualified to participate in PERFORM 60.
